What Can Save The World is Inside Human

He was born as the first child of an Armenian family immigrated from Bitlis,Turkey to America. He has became orphaned at the age of 3, was sent to orphanage school. Left school at 15. Wanted to be a writer and succeded . His first story book "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze and Other Stories" In America was the best-seller in story category.

Writing and traveling ,he hadn't done anything else. In 1939 "The Time of Your Life" was awarded to the Pulitzer but he refused.

No need to look for fancy phrases in his works. He talks sincerly, simply and full of enthusiasm. And his style is called with his name  "Saroyanesque". Saroyan, in his stories talked about one thing: Human. He died in 1981, had already written his name in the history of American Literature.

"Kurdish, said my grandmother, is the language of the heart. Turkish was music,  flows like wine, soft, sweet, bright. Our language, is the language of the pain-she cried-. We always tasted death; our language hatred, has the burden of pain."

Saroyan came to Turkey. He traveled to Bitlis, toured the land of their ancestors. He got married, divorced and then remarried with the same woman, then divorced again. They ask "Where are you from?", his answer was "I'm from Sivas". UNESCO has declared year 2008 as the "Year of Saroyan"

Today, In Armenia, under his statue, this miraclous quotation is written:

"What Can Save The World is Inside Human"
