The Most Beautiful Monument Dedicated to Love

Shah Jahan, taking his nine-month pregnant wife, went to Burhanpur' with armies to suppress a rebellion. And on the way, Mumtaz Mahal died during the birth of her 14th child.  

Shah Jahan, had mourned for 2 years after the death of his wife and completely lost his interest in the affairs of state. He concenrtrated on architecture and art.  

Taj Mahal has been built for the memory of Mumtaz Mahal's death in 1632. Taj Mahal is called as the largest and the most beautiful monument to love.
