Boston Tea Party

Great Britain, had applied heavy taxes on Tea Exports, since It couldn't collect any tax from the non-british citizen -American colonists- living in the United States . To protest against these high taxes, a group of American Colonists, had outfited like an Indian, in midnight on December 6 th, 1773. And poured all the tea from British ships to the sea in Boston harbor. This action was called as "Boston Tea Party".

Britain and British goods, after the Boston Tea Party, had been boycotted and protested. Although Great Britain had showed a hard response to this situation, in 1774, in Philadelphia, the American military establishment and implementation of trade sanctions against the British decision had been taken.

Mahatma Gandhi, in 1930, inspired by the Boston Tea Party, had launched The Salt March as a passive resistance and civil disobedience action.

This action was a non-violent and symbolic protest and one of the major starters of the American War of Independence.
