As Long As There is Hunger There Will Be No Peace

Willy Brandt had struggled in all of his life. He had escaped from Nazi and Gestapo. Lived in exile. The war was over, he had returned to his country . Showed very stable responses to the construction of the Berlin Wall. For the establishment of the European Economic Community, he showed a lot more effort than any other leaders . He was oppesed to nuclear armament. In October 1992, he died near the Rhine River in Berlin because of home colon cancer and was burried near his home. The Berlin Wall was collapsed and West Germany and East Germany had been united, just before he died.

After he was elected as the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, he visited the
the memorial for the murdered Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. While the crowd was looking in amazement,in front of the memorial, miraculously he has put his knees to plead for mercy in to the asphalt ignoring the rain.
