She had started to work on Balkan music until the end of the 1980s . When she was a Canadian musician,  "I have listened some Turkish albums and suddenly an emotional connection has been established" she said. and she started to learn Turkish and Turkish folk music.

Rumeli music known as the Turkish - Balkan melodies have attracted her.  She has worked on the theory of Turkish music and folk music and searched for the archives. She has visited the Thrace and the Balkan region.

MacCrimmon is soprana. She performed with various groups and musicians like Selim Sesler, Baba Zula, Mad Professor. In the film "Crossing The Bridge" directed by Fatih Akin: ,she performed  'window against the road' and 'i wish i was a seagull ' folk songs.  She sang in "GoodBye Rumelia" a TV series, a song called "ediye". Recently, she established a mucic group with Beth Cohen, Paul Brown, Polly Ferber  and Haig Manoukian called Orkestar.
She speaks turkish well although she is not turkish. She surfaced some anonymous folk songs which are in danger of extinction. She has a unique nature of timbre. And because of all these, she has showed miraculous performance and gets high attractiveness
